9Rules Network

I’m proud to announce that markboulton.co.uk is now part of the 9Rules Network, a blog network focussed on content. The 9Rules Network aims to help sites get a wider audience through a “collective” approach with relatively few sites, all of which provide great content.
I’m chuffed that Paul (Scrivens of such sites as Whitespace and CSSVault) and team have accepted my site onto the 9Rules bus for what promises to be a fun ride!
While I’m at it, thanks to everyone who reads and continues to read and comment on this site. I’m hoping as the readership grows, so does the conversation and debate. If you’re new to the site, especially if you’ve come from a 9Rules Network site, then say hi.

Welcome Mark. I’ve always enjoyed your site, and was happy to learn that you made it through in the first-round.

Welcome, Mark! With sites the caliber of yours joining, I think it’s safe to say that the 9rules Network is going to conquer the world.
(Now if you could just tone down your design a bit so my sites don’t look so weak in comparison, that’d be great....)

Thanks all. I’m looking forward to seeing how things pan out with the 9Rules Network. As other sites, under different categories, begin to be integrated into the Network, we could see a huge increase in not only readership and general traffic, but also in terms of revenue and business opportunity.
Exciting times.
James - I’m thinking of a polka-dot design for the next version - maybe violet and orange, with BIG type - Comic Sans maybe. What do you think? ;-)

Fantastic. Mark, I came upon your site a few weeks ago after reading your article on Grid Systems in Design in Flight.
I love attention to detail and look forward to your articles.

Congrats, I’ve always thought the second generation of blogs are focused not on linking existing content but on producing fresh content. Yours surely falls on the second category.

Great site. I found you through the 9rules network and I am glad I did. I love the way you are displaying comments as thought bubbles. Any interest in writing an article on how you do it? :)

Thanks all, keep checking back for some interesting stuff over the next few weeks.
- The rest of the “Five simple steps… Typography”
- The next simple steps series (I’ve got another interesting one in the pipeline)
There’s going to be some interesting updates to the site to keep it aligned with the new Network as well.

Congrats, Mark!
BTW, it seems that images in your articles are broken in individual article pages (like http://www.markboulton.co.uk/journal/comments/9rules_network/) They work on the journal home page, tho.

Thanks for the heads up Jarkko, that’s fixed now. Pesky ‘XHTML Typography’ plugin.
