Wouldn&#8217;t you want to align it with the ascender or cap-height of the main content? I believe that&#8217;s what M&#252;ller-Brockmann recommends in <a href="http://www.youworkforthem.com/product.php?sku=P0004" rel="nofollow"><em>Grid Systems</em></a></p>
