1. There’s a movement to radically change California government, by getting rid of career politicians and chopping their salaries in half. A group known as Citizens for California Reform wants to make the California legislature a part time time job, just like it was until 1966.

I noticed you’re cheating ever so slightly – that ampersand’s not Georgia! (though I have to forgive you, because it does look lovely)

Also, the spacing between paragraphs feels too tight for me. But that’s very much a personal preference.

Overall though, it’s just lovely. The ridiculously large Georgia post-titles and intricate drop-caps just do it for me.

Have mercy Mark! People can’t find what they’re looking for around here.

I often refer to your articles when talking to clients, peers and our trainees. Solid knowledge base on grids and typography. Unfortunately after the redesign those poor people can’t find relevant articles on your blog and I have to dig in my bookmarks or use google to find stuff on your blog (sic!). Just an obvious link to categories or a search box would suffice. Of course I do love the new look, sweet typography and all this pretty white space all around but come on, help me out here! ;)

Hate to be the dissenter, but I think I liked it better before. Many links are broken, for example those to your excellent article “Five simple steps to designing grid systems.” And without any search capability, I can’t find it.

I’m definitely a fan of the simplified / boiled down layout… the details you spent time on shine through that way. No sidebar, no ads, no nav, all article… Great work.

Ah, I wondered if it was a conscious decision or a CMS setting. I travel the web with the searchstatus plugin on Firefox, which highlights nofollowed links by placing a nice pink link condom over them. Very useful. :)
