Parting company from 9rules

{title}Yesterday, 9rules and I parted company. It was a good relationship while it lasted, but an increased workload and the subsequent tipping of scales has meant that I can't give back to the Network what I once could. 9rules deserves more than I could give it, so I'm bowing out.

Thanks to Paul and all the 9rules members for a creating a cracking community.

Comments

I was very curious to the what’d happen here at mb.co.uk over the new 9rules especially as your part of 2 networks (BritPants/9rules).

Zach, the Britpack isn’t a network, just a hyper-elite band of superhumans, standing proud together in their pants. We don’t do porn either.

Very classy post, Mark. Its a shame to see others giving Scrivs and the 9 Rules guys crap for their decisions of late, especially people who aren’t even part of the network to begin with.

Jon,

Im a proud Brit and an even more proud Scot. so I understand the promotion of our country to the larger ones.

I guess Brit Pants is a clique more than a network but that’s just semantics to me.

As for the lack of porn, what a shame. Who wouldn’t pay to see you stick your 1 into a girls 0. [/geek joke]

Really we are the ones who need to thank you Mark for setting the bar for what a quality site is at 9rules. As always, you are welcome back anytime.

Very diplomatically done paul. I have to admit that I’m surprised you wern’t asked to leave ages ago, being part of the compeating digital content network that is the BritPack :-)

I guess Brit Pants is a clique more than a network but that?s just semantics to me.

Well specifically we’re a bunch of mates who like to arrange to meet up and get drunk together. As such we are no more of a clique and any group of pissed Brits you meeet down your local.

I don’t really know where this ‘Britpack is a blog network’ came from - this isn’t the first time it’s been said to me.

To go on the record though, Paul and the 9rules team have never mentioned anything about it. Not an issue.

Does that mean you won’t come to bowling? We’ll miss you over at 9rules, but I don’t want Team Avalonstar to lose you. ;(

No, I’ll be there Bryan despite mounting pressure to attend 20x2. I’d much rather bowl than sit listening to more people talk!

9rules is less the destination for it. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!

I’d like to see photos of the bowling, bryan!
$10 on mark!

‘always enjoyed the site, mark, keep it up!

A picture of Mark BoultonI'm a graphic designer from near Cardiff in the UK. I've been a designer for over ten years now and primarily work on the web. I'm still partial to a bit of print every now and then though. I used to work for Agency.com in London as an Art Director before working as a Senior Designer for the BBC in sunny Cardiff. This was all before I took leave of my senses and formed my own design consultancy, Mark Boulton Design Ltd.

I've got a thing about grids and typography and occasionally ramble on about them to anyone who will listen.

If you're after simple, clean and effective web design; let me know.
