The new product is always something wonderful. New ipod is not a exception too. This is very suitable gift for all.

I just got mine two week ago, and thought the exact same thing about the packaging. Like adam said, opening any Apple product when you bring it home is like Christmas even though you know what is inside.

I am glad that I am not alone in being befuddled by the plastic container and the time taken to then notice the little sticky out sticker, opening my first Apple product has whet my appetite and I cannot wait for hogmanay to be over, though hopefully not too quickly, and 2007 to bring my 24-inch iMac Duo

My only problem with this shuffle is that, because it requires a little dock, you lose the ability to use it as a USB memory stick - I have the 1st Gen shuffle and bought it not just because I wanted something to easily chuck around in the gym but because I wanted to transfer files about as well. So I doubt I’ll be upgrading.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve been thinking about getting one as well from the moment Mr. Jobs did a lookie-lou to it at the last conference in Paris. I was amazed and thought it was something else.

I plan on using it for running. Now, the only thing missing would be cordless ear-buds =) Too bad Sony haven’t made one yet to follow their MDX models.

I keep my iPod in the left pocket aswell, so you’re not alone there… I don’t have a shuffle, but am fairly certain that the headphones are the old ones, so may only seem better because they’re new?

I just got mine a week ago as well, and thought the exact same thing about the packaging. Opening any Apple product when you bring it home is like Christmas even though you know what’s inside.

As for the shuffle itself, I’m full of praise, but I think the #1 thing I love about it, is that it has a) forced me to be more prudent with my track meta data so I can build smarter playlists for synching, and b) with the new playlists, and the randomness of the shuffle I’m listening to tons of great music that I had forgotten I even had.
