Option 1. Utilising new 21st Century Travel branding
Objective
The UK gateway is the regional United Kingdom and Ireland homepage. It holds specific UK and Ireland content and integrates into a UK based ecommerce engine. The brief was to bring the existing homepage up to date utilising fourth generation browser technology and to a 800 x 600 viewable area. It was also to incorporate British Airways new brand direction and photography.
Solution
The main objective was to redesign the UK gateway to be more flexible. The design was to hang around a simple grid which would be eventually applied site wide. A new direction in photography for British Airways was a main inspiration for richer blues to be incorporated. A softer, more sophisticated design was proposed which included the redesigned ‘booking engine’ and contextual dhtml subnavigation.
