Early concept work. Mood boards taking on the new branding and advertising colours and concept.
Objectives
To reposition compaq as a market leader in both the business, b2b and consumer markets with a view to a redesign of the entire dotcom site with that design then filtering down to local market sites.
Content issues on design as the brief was to ‘reskin’ over 1.5 million pages of content - both editorial and informational.
To position Compaq more in line with new offline marketing and advertising campaigns (splash of red and the tag line ‘inspiration technology’)
Solution
The creative lead on this project was taken by the Dallas office of AGENCY.COM as this was essentially a redesign for the american market with a view for that design to filter down to local markets (Europe, Asia etc). The Dallas office approached the London office to partake in the initial research and development phase of the project. The idea being that we would add a European flavour to the design. The site was to use existing information architecture and content so the project, at this stage, was purely a graphic design exercise.
There were initially three rounds - Mood boards, round 2 and round 3 with round three being presented to Compaq worldwide as AGENCY.COM’s recommendation for the redesign.
The ethos of the creative work that was done has been roled out to all Compaq sites worldwide.
